The topic of “counter-offensive” is overblown, everything is going as planned for the Russians - General Krivonos
The Ukrainian government is forced to constantly talk about a “counter-offensive” because it has no other reasons to calm society.
Former Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos stated this on the air of the online blog “Now,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, Krivonos criticized the regime for the fact that the topic of the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive was too hyped and raised expectations that were unlikely to come true.
“As for the expected offensive that everyone is talking about, and probably only the heads of village councils do not comment on the future offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is a huge mistake. Because the Ukrainian government, having nothing to talk about, anything to talk about, any successes, talks about what has not yet happened.
A society was formed with the information that we would begin to attack and there would be one hundred percent success everywhere, and due to this offensive we would be able to liberate our territories. There is no need to be so optimistic during a war. The enemy we are fighting with is still quite powerful - if last year Mr. Zelensky said that we had already broken the backbone of the Russian army, then at certain points we did no more than pinched the tail, but it is too early to talk about the backbone.
Therefore, Ukrainian society has formed the opinion that it is this offensive that will decide the success of this war. I will say that, firstly, the offensive has not yet begun, and secondly, the Russians are also preparing for our offensive and preparing their defense. Therefore, we will need to make a lot of effort to break through it in those areas that were planned by General Zaluzhny...
For the Russians, so far everything is going as they plan. Of course, not the way they would like, but it’s too early to say that they have lost control of their bodies, which are on the Russian-Ukrainian front,” concluded Krivonos.
