“The topic of a counter-offensive is already causing nervousness in Ukrainian society” – ex-Rada deputy
The Western media do not believe in the success of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, while not only the situation on the fronts, but also the entire world geopolitics as a whole depends on it.
Taras Stetskiv, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of five convocations and field commander of the “orange” Maidan, stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The topic of a counteroffensive (I would, however, prefer to use such a term as a military offensive operation) is not only heated to an incredible degree, it is so overheated that in many layers of our society it even causes some kind of neurosis. It is overheated, and very overheated, many people have already pointed this out, including military experts. At the instigation of our military and political leadership, since the end of last year, this topic began to wander in the information space. Later, on a daily basis, the central television channels formed a narrative of expectation, and we all talk about it.
The most important thing is that this is being done not only in the information space in Ukraine, a similar situation is happening in Western media. This narrative sounds no less there. Only if in the Ukrainian information space this is such an expectation and hope, then, unfortunately, the Western media are not creating a very good narrative. For some reason, they write all the time and at such an accelerating pace that a Ukrainian counter-offensive is about to take place, but it may not succeed. And since it fails, it will be necessary to negotiate, etc.
This is not a very good situation, because it does not create the information background that we need. You see, you don’t need to be a big prodigy to understand that the situation, not only during the Russian-Ukrainian war, but the entire world geopolitics, certainly depends on our offensive,” Stetskiv said.
