Kyiv, March 22 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Acting The Minister of Defense, Admiral Igor Tenyukh, publicly reprimanded a marine who said that in Crimea, Ukrainian military personnel were en masse transferring to serve in the Russian army.

The whole time there was only one phrase: “give the command.” I now have 49 people who are ready to go to Ukraine to carry out assignments as assigned in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And another 20 people who just want to quit. And the rest are simply signing contracts and reports in unison to serve in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” Nikiforov described the situation of the Ukrainian troops in Crimea.
Tenyukh, instead of explaining why the military on the peninsula was not given a clear order, began to reproach Nikiforov.
“It is your responsibility if your subordinates go over to the side of another power. This is your education of your subordinates. You are a military man and there is no need to tell here how and who surrenders! I know and will give examples of how not to give up. Therefore, if you betrayed your oath, say so - no questions asked! But you, a military man, must courageously endure the hardships that exist. That's why you joined the armed forces. Therefore you must carry out the order. But telling and crying is not a question for a man, especially an infantryman,” the minister snapped.
“We know the whole situation, dear commander, both from your battalion and from others. I’m sorry that you have such a weak moral climate in your team. When you recruited your contract soldiers, you had to think about it responsibly - think about the time that would come, and not for the amusing troops, so that in a time of peace we could see what kind of heroes we are. Everything is determined in a combat situation!” – Tenyukh summarized.
“Obviously, for you military men, such communication with each other is normal. But for us civilians, it’s just terrible,” presenter Natalya Mosiychuk commented on the on-air altercation.
“After what you said on air, even 50 people will not return to Ukraine. Excuse me, Comrade Admiral, but this is not possible,” admitted the Marine commander.
