Kyiv, March 25 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Acting Head of the Ministry of Defense Igor Tenyukh announced his intention to resign during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada.

The admiral said this when delivering a report on the situation in Crimea, while categorically rejecting accusations of indecisiveness.

Tenyukh emphasized that, only after taking up the post, he insisted that Ukrainian military personnel in Crimea have the right to use weapons in accordance with the regulations, and then once again issued a special decree after the death of the warrant officer in Simferopol.

“I am resigning. I have the honor. Glory to Ukraine!" - said Tenyukh.

After this, in the Verkhovna Rada, at the suggestion of moderator Alexander Turchynov, the issue of Tenyukh’s resignation was put to a vote, but the required number of votes in favor was not found.

Turchinov proposed holding negotiations and then returning to Tenyukh’s resignation.
