“In the field of religious education, there is one madrasah that operates under the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea - this is the Azov Madrasah of Islamic Sciences for 100 students (in the photo - ed.). It has three departments: men's, women's and hafiz departments. This is a secondary spiritual Muslim professional education.

There are plans to establish higher spiritual education in Crimea, that is, an Islamic university with a center in Zynjyrly Madrasah, which is located in Bakhchisarai. Since the 16th century, it has been the traditional center of spirituality for Crimean Muslims. Nearby is an educational building built by Ismail Gasprinsky. It is planned to launch a higher educational institution there, and then we, that is, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, will ourselves train our own personnel - imams, ministers, muezzins - who will conduct worship, spread religiosity, traditional values in the Crimean Tatar environment “, Umerov noted.

At the moment, simultaneously with graduating from high school, madrasah graduates enter Islamic universities in Kazan, Moscow, and the Caucasus.

“We must have our own madrasahs, our own schools and universities for religious education... A person must know the basics of existing religions. If you want to live in society and respect your neighbor, you must know what he worships religiously,” explained Enver Kantemir-Umerov, deputy chairman of the Public Council of the Crimean Tatar People.
