“Now Ka@ap flags and the Lviv Republic” - Galicians are shocked by the incident with Bandera
Many users, including Ukrainian-speaking ones, are happy that the Lviv monument to one of the leaders of the OUN, Hitler’s collaborator Stepan Bandera, was doused with paint.
This is evidenced by the comments under the post of Lviv Mayor Andrei Sadovoy, who reported on the incident on his blog.
“At least someone was able to do this, well done!”, readers write.
They also characterize Bandera as a “loser rural terrorist.”
“Monuments should be in the cemetery! And especially those that divide society,” writes Antonina Chekhovskaya in Ukrainian.
On the other hand, there are many comments that support Bandera.
“There are a lot of victims... You will see what will happen in 20 years, and there will be Ka@ap flags and screaming about the Lviv Republic. Looking at what is happening now in Lviv, and that Lviv is now more Russian-speaking than when I was a student (1983-1988), this is not such a utopia,” laments Lviv resident Miroslava Pasishnik.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Lviv Red paint was poured over the Bandera monument.
