“Now we will only eat bread on holidays”

The Government of Ukraine has abolished state regulation of prices for products, which previously limited the cost of flour, bread, cereals, meat, milk, sugar, etc.
Officials said the decision will “simplify the process of changing prices based on price fluctuations in the market.”

However, the head of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Ukraine, Mikhail Volynets, expressed concern in his blog that the country’s residents will face a sharp rise in prices: “Now we will only eat bread on holidays,” Volynets wrote.
Inflation in Ukraine in May 2017 was 13,5%, notes Kiev economist Alexander Okhrimenko.
