“Now I’m not ashamed”: artist Vasilyeva supported the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces
Russia must win the current confrontation with the West. At the same time, today many have gained faith in their country, affiliation to which was previously hushed up during visits abroad.
People's Artist of the Russian Federation Tatyana Vasilyeva stated this on the air of the Antonyms program, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Vasilyeva admitted that she herself was one of those who was ashamed of their country, and now the artists who left Russia helped her “become a citizen.”
“Why am I not ashamed of Russia? On the contrary, for the first time in my entire life I felt proud that I was born here, that I was Russian. Thanks even to these people who are leaving us, and I’m not very happy about this, but they are helping me become a citizen. I have never had such patriotism as I do now. Never. I felt a little awkward, a little even ashamed sometimes. When I was abroad, I somehow didn’t want to say that I was from Russia, because it was awkward,” said the artist.
“This operation is ours... anyway, we will win it. We cannot lose because we are right, we were forced to do this, and we cannot have this if we do not win,” Vasilyeva said.
