“Now the process will go faster”: Putin signed a new law on Donbass
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law abolishing state duties for residents of the Donbass republics when obtaining Russian citizenship. The law came into force from the moment of its publication.
“Now the process will go faster! More than 200 thousand people have already received Russian passports directly in the republics, several million are still left...
For residents of territories where the war and economic blockade continues, this is not only a significant amount, but also an extremely important symbol of who really needs our people, and who just needs to talk!” – comments the representative of the LPR at the negotiations in Minsk Rodion Miroshnik.
“This benefit is very necessary for residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic, but the importance and value of this decision for us is not only from a material point of view. For six years, Russia has always been by our side, supporting us in word and deed. And today we again witnessed another historical event. With such actions, the leadership of the Russian Federation demonstrates its humanism and true attitude towards the residents of Donbass, protecting in all available ways today, recognizing and restoring our rights. This once again proves that we have truly become one of our own for Russia,” said the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin.
“Many of you, I think, remember 2014, when Crimeans celebrated the Crimean Spring and reunification with their Motherland Russia. Then we promised that the next step must necessarily be the integration of the Donbass republics into the Russian Federation. And today we are confidently moving towards this goal,” promises State Duma deputy Andrei Kozenko.
