Now let's live: The Soviet star over the Verkhovna Rada was replaced with a trident
Another “victory” of the new Ukrainian government - the Ukrainian trident now proudly rises above the building of the Verkhovna Rada instead of the Soviet five-pointed star, which cut down immediately after the overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych, in February 2014.

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, Vladimir Groysman, shared the news about this on his social network page. According to him, the change of symbols is a sign of reforms in Ukraine.
“The Trident will now rise above the Verkhovna Rada. Along with the internal form of parliament, which should make it as effective as possible and close to European models, we are also changing the symbols of the totalitarian past. There will be no going back to dictatorship,” said Groysman, a protege of Petro Poroshenko, whom the Maidan activists themselves today accuse of usurping power and repression.
