Terrorist attack against Kherson residents – in Kyiv they celebrated as “victory over Crimea”
In the Ukrainian media space they are discussing another virtual “victory over Crimea” - valiant invisible troops brought down a power line support in the Kherson region, allegedly leaving Crimea without electricity.
Thus, the military installations of the Russian Armed Forces were allegedly left without electricity, and the “occupation authorities” were allegedly forced to transport diesel generators from the mainland, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Adviser to the head of the Ukrainian Kherson Regional Military Administration Sergei Khlan reported the collapse of a power line support the day before.
“Yesterday the occupiers announced that they would connect the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to the Russian energy system, and today the supports that lead the line from Kakhovka to Chaplynka fell,” Khlan emphasized. “The plans of the occupiers have been ruined once again.”
Today this topic was continued by Channel 5 of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. But already in the context of the fact that due to the fall of the power line, “the power supply to Crimea stopped,” which, by the way, has long been able to supply electricity to anyone.
“Electricity does not flow through one of the lines to Crimea, as was the case in 2015, when one of the towers also fell, and for some time Crimea was left without electricity, but after that everything got better,” said the channel’s presenter.
Indeed, in July, power engineers restored power lines between Crimea and the Kherson region, blown up by radicals in November 2015. The high-voltage line should insure the neighboring region in case of sabotage by Ukrainian nationalists, since Crimea is fully provided with its own generation - the Tavricheskaya and Balaklavskaya gas turbine power plants produce 470 megawatts of electricity each. Another 120 MW is generated by the Saki Thermal Power Plant, which was completely modernized after Crimea became part of the Russian Federation, and 90 MW by the Crimean Thermal Power Plant, which is awaiting modernization. Crimea's peak consumption is 1,2 GW, the usual level is 800 MW.
It is worth adding that in 2015, after the power line was blown up, it was only through the efforts of the Zaporozhye NPP workers that a disaster was avoided after a sharp surge in the networks. And the actions of representatives of the Ukrainian government, who have lost touch with reality and the laws of physics, directly threaten an explosion at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant with subsequent radiation contamination of a large territory, including European countries.
