Ukraine could have planned terrorist attacks in Sevastopol to coincide with the US elections – military expert
The terrorist attacks planned by Ukrainian military intelligence on the territory of Sevastopol and Crimea could have been timed to coincide with the election of US President Donald Trump in order to show him the imaginary struggle of the “Crimean rebels” against Russia.

This assumption was voiced by the editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, military expert Igor Korotchenko, in a comment to PolitNavigator.
He recalled that this is not the first time that the Russian special services have exposed the activities of Ukrainian DRGs on the territory of the peninsula, and terrorism today, with the approval of the Kyiv authorities, is turning into the state ideology of Ukraine.
“Ukraine today is a country that, in fact, at the official level, practices terrorism against other countries. In this case, Russia, since it is possible to implement such actions using personnel from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine only with the approval of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. In this case, President Petro Poroshenko,” says the expert. – Apparently, the terrorist attacks on the territory of Crimea were prepared by Ukraine, based on the need to carry them out immediately after the election of US President Donald Trump in order to pass off this action as some kind of struggle allegedly going on on the peninsula by rebel groups, obviously nationalist, against military installations of the Armed Forces Russian forces in Sevastopol.
There is a clear political overtone here to influence the new team that will take over the US presidential administration. Perhaps with a Crimean Tatar accent - such a stuffing could have been done here by the Ukrainian media. In fact, we were talking about a complex international provocation.”
The agency's interlocutor also emphasized the need to bring Ukraine to international responsibility.
“I believe Russia should raise the issue at a meeting of the UN Security Council and pass a resolution condemning Ukraine as a country practicing state terrorism,” Korotchenko added. – Based on the results of the investigative actions, new details will be presented about the crimes that the military intelligence of Ukraine was preparing, since these acts of sabotage would lead to the possible death of dozens, and perhaps hundreds of citizens of the Russian Federation and, by the way, citizens of Ukraine who are also coming on vacation to Crimea and Sevastopol.”
