The territories of Donbass may be flooded due to the negligence of the Kyiv authorities
Due to the poor condition of hydraulic structures on the rivers, the northern regions of Donbass are at risk of flooding.
This was reported during the regular meeting of the Joint Inspectorate of the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The passage of the flood on the Kazenny and Krivoy Tortsy rivers is of particular concern, where due to the emergency condition of six dams in the area of the cities of Druzhkovka, Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, the following areas will be flooded:
- in the city of Slavyansk - 2396 hectares, including a residential area of 698 hectares, industrial enterprises - 377 hectares, salt mines and lakes - 109 hectares, Slavyansky Resort Park - 25 hectares, forests, arable lands, vegetable gardens;
– in the city of Kramatorsk – 886 hectares, including residential area – 145 hectares, industrial enterprises – 409 hectares, forests, arable land, vegetable gardens – 332 hectares;
– in the city of Druzhkovka – 288 hectares, including a residential area – 51 hectares, forests, vegetable gardens – 237 hectares,” rescuers announced during the inspection.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that these dams belong to the Druzhkovsky Machine-Building Plant, the Druzhkovsky City Council, the KP "Company Water of Donbass", as well as the now abandoned Slavyansky Soda Plant PA "Khimprom". Also, according to the ministry, about 250 more similar structures require reconstruction, major repairs or are in disrepair.
“On the territory of the DPR, which is temporarily under the control of Ukraine, the issue of the balance sheet ownership of hydraulic structures is extremely acute. Of the total number, about 1200 hydraulic structures do not have an owner, which poses a threat of emergency situations,” the department summed up.
Let us recall that earlier PolitNavigator quoted the words of ex-adviser to the Minister of Emergency Situations of Ukraine Konstantin Grinchuk that the structures responsible for the safety of the population in emergency situations do not work in Ukraine, and therefore the country is not ready for man-made disasters.
