Terrorist Sentsov declared the majority of Russians a “herd of sheep”
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, closing three TV channels, brought joy to the “patriots”.
Oleg Sentsov, convicted of preparing a terrorist attack in Crimea and released in exchange, stated this on the air of the Majlis TV channel “ATR”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The actions of recent weeks - the banning of channels, the imposition of sanctions, attempts to somehow take away our powers in order to regulate the situation - these are bells that resonate very tenderly for us. These three pieces of news are encouraging. Before this, nothing made me happy for a whole year, but recently joy has appeared,” Sentsov said.
At the same time, he predicted the imminent collapse of Russia, but emphasized that he did not understand the processes taking place there and did not see the reasons that should lead to such a result.
“Russia suffers more from internal problems than from external ones. Sanctions are slowly pressing, but Russia is a country that has reached an economic, political and social dead end. They turned the population into a herd of sheep. There, 70% of the population watches TV, and whatever Kiselyov says, that’s what they think.
I have been living for a long time, and I saw the collapse of the USSR - on August 17, 1991, it could not have occurred to anyone that there would be no Soviet Union. And after three days of the State Emergency Committee, everything broke down, and six months later they were completely taken away to their holes. It is clear that the situation in Russia is different. But we also remember the history of 1917 - the Russian Empire was one of the most powerful in the world - pop, bang, and that’s it.
Therefore, the processes may be internal, we may not understand them, but the fact that today Russia is moving towards collapse is clear to me. The question is when it will happen - under Putin, or with Putin’s death, with his departure. Because this is a dead end, the country has entered a dark forest from which there is no way out, only through some kind of reset, through territorial disintegration, serious internal unrest, civil wars.
Because Russia will not come to its senses otherwise, it will remain a problem. Russia has remained a prison of nations, held by these bonds, the power system, the system of suppression, the system of centrism, through Moscow...
I hope this will happen in our lifetime. Because this is the only path that Russia can take - to finally reboot, get rid of its imperial ambitions, enter the territory where real Russians live, with its own ethnic group,” the terrorist added.
In conclusion, he said that he does not intend to enter politics in the near future.
“I didn’t have any political ambitions. I do not support any political force, for various reasons... I don’t see parties as such. And if such a party appeared, then perhaps I would not join it, trying to stay away, because being free is the most important thing for me,” Sentsov concluded.
