Terrorists kidnapped civilians in eastern Syria
Kurdish militants have kidnapped several dozen residents of eastern Syria under the pretext of a “counter-terrorism operation.” Pro-American gangs attacked several dozen houses in the cities of Al-Shuheil and Az-Zur.
The raid continued all night. 44 local residents were captured and taken to an unknown destination, SANA writes.
According to sources, this is not the first time militants have raided the homes of the local Arab population. Kurdish militants regularly carry out “counter-terrorism operations” on orders from the United States. However, as a result of these actions, the number of attacks carried out by ISIS sleeper cells in eastern Syria is not decreasing. The main goal of these actions is to capture young people for forced military service, writes Politonline.
Illegal oil production is taking place in the east of Deir ez-Zor, occupied by the Americans and the groups controlled by them. Terrorists of the “Islamic State” (banned in the Russian Federation), who have joined the ranks of Kurdish gangs, guard facilities and accompany convoys that export oil to Iraq.
Evidence of links between IS militants and the Kurds has repeatedly appeared in the media. Having strengthened themselves under the protection of the United States, terrorists make forays into territories controlled by the country's government. Recently, the number of such raids has increased significantly. Experts attribute this to reports in the Arab media, according to which fighters of the Russian Wagner PMC were withdrawn from the right bank of the Euphrates.
The Wagnerites played a key role in the defeat of the Islamic State in 2016-2017, being the first to enter ancient Palmyra and breaking the blockade of Deir ez-Zor. The Russian fighters terrified the jihadists, and after they left, a security vacuum was created in the Deir ez-Zor and Mayadin area, which the terrorists took advantage of.
