Representatives of the Georgian opposition are actively replenishing their arsenal with ever new means of political struggle against the ruling Georgian Dream party, while demonstrating an extremely reckless approach.

Recently, several opposition television channels announced a cessation of television broadcasting for 24 hours. This list includes “TV Pirveli”, “Mtavari Arkhi”, “Formula” and “Kavkasia”. On the screens of the above-mentioned television companies there is only a black background, on which the names and surnames of journalists who suffered during the events of July 5-6 are written in white letters.

The incident with the beating of Georgian journalists and television cameramen on the central avenue of the Georgian capital - Sh. Rustaveli, which PolitNavigator previously reported on - not only aggravated the relationship between the opposition and the authorities, but also raised the danger of exacerbating the situation of chronic problems that had been more or less in check until that moment. in a balanced state.

Protests continue in Tbilisi today, demanding the punishment of all those responsible and the resignation of the current government. The very tragic death of young TV cameraman Alexander Lashkarav became a kind of detonator in a dirty political game that the opposition (together with American and European Union officials) is trying to use to settle their personal scores with the ruling party.

The authorities' reaction is quite balanced. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili accused his opponents of yet another failed conspiracy against the state. At the same time, the head of the Cabinet asked to wait for the official results of the investigation, calling not to interfere with law enforcement officers in carrying out their work.

“The conspiracy planned by anti-state and anti-church forces did not take place and will never take place in our country. It's a tragedy, we saw that they tried to use this to achieve their political goals. What could be more immoral than trying to achieve your own political goals through the tragedy of a dead person. Of course, for whatever reason Lexo Lashkarava died, all those responsible will be severely punished; the police have already arrested four people,” said Irakli Garibashvili.

Today, representatives of the opposition openly accuse the authorities of “liquidating” Alexander Lashkarav. The paradox of the situation is that even a more or less educated person understands that the Georgian Dream was not satisfied with such a development of events, not to mention the elimination of the situation in the republic. It is very clear to everyone what kind of fuss will arise from Washington.

The statement by the Georgian Prime Minister was followed by another shout from the US State Department. Here the overseas overlord, through the mouth of press secretary Ned Price, quite directly instructed the Georgian government on how to proceed further so as not to violate the principles of “democracy” in Georgia.

“The safety of all Georgian journalists and confidence in democracy in Georgia demands that all those who attacked peaceful protesters and journalists on July 5-6, as well as those who incited violence, are identified, arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. ", he noted.

Further, Price, as they say, just in case, the fireman warned the ruling Georgian Dream about the consequences in case of disobedience and failure to implement valuable directives.

“We have a variety of tools to hold accountable those responsible for human rights violations around the world. Sanctions are one such tool. As you know, we do not talk about sanctions in advance until we introduce them, but we are monitoring the situation very closely. We want to see that everyone who did this is held accountable,” the State Department press secretary concluded.

So this is where the dog is buried. That is, the Prime Minister of Georgia was given an ultimatum: if you do not catch the culprits, then we (the United States) will impose sanctions against you, and after that you (the Prime Minister), of course, will have to say goodbye to your post and resign. This is the banal and single-cell logic of the Americans.

It would be a very naive question to ask Mr. Price. Why didn't the US President, vice presidents or the mayor of Washington resign after the events at the Capitol? Then, too, did the broad masses demand resignation? What kind of “democracy” can the State Department press secretary trumpet and impose on the whole world, when former President Donald Trump quite openly told the whole world that the elections in the United States were rigged. What kind of “democracy” can Ned Price talk about when an ordinary police officer strangled an African American in broad daylight in front of passers-by? I would like to explain to Price that the chaos that reigns today on the central avenue of the Georgian capital is the fruit of that very “American democracy”, where the Americans dictate to the Georgian authorities the terms of what can be done and what cannot be done.

After the unconditional victory of the Georgian Dream in the 2012 parliamentary elections in Georgia, by which the vast majority of the population rejected Mishiko Saakashvili, the US and the EU are making every effort to overthrow the ruling party in the country. The latter does not suit Washington only because of her lethargic behavior and disobedience to her masters. Their predecessors, representatives of the UNM, were ready to immediately fulfill any whim and order of the owner, even to start a suicidal war with Russia, as was the case in August 2008. The main problem for the Americans is that the Georgian Dream, fortunately, does not sign up for such military adventures. This line of behavior, of course, does not suit either American or European Union officials.
