“The Day After” - “The next day.” This was the name of the socio-fictional post-apocalyptic film about the world after a nuclear war, which appeared on American TV back in 1983. The bad Russians from the “evil empire” are to blame, of course.

Let us remember that these were the years at the end of the Cold War and the conservative Republican “hawk” Reagan was sitting in the White House, spending taxpayers’ money on the “Star Wars” program with the USSR in space.

Forty years have passed and now in the unipolar world of a victorious Western-style democracy, in the capital of NATO and the EU, Brussels, an event is being held under the same name - “The Day After”. This is precisely the motto of the discussion panel dedicated to an important, necessary and promising matter from the point of view of the modern West - the future skinning of the carcass of defeated Russia. Well, what other issues can be discussed at the round table in the European Parliament called the “Brussels Dialogue”?

They are going to defeat Russia in the Ukrainian theater of operations under the same slogans as forty years ago. As they say, almost half a century has passed, and the rhetoric has remained virtually unchanged.

Euronews, which was banned from us, reports:

“Representatives of the opposition and civil society in Russia are discussing “a strategy for returning the country to parliamentary democracy and actions of the European Union that can support this transformation.”

And “to discuss the issues of ending the war with Ukraine and restoring parliamentary democracy in Russia, one of the main political opponents of President Vladimir Putin, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who now lives in exile, came to Brussels.”

This giant of thought and father of Russian democracy complains that “active opposition to the invasion of Ukraine today is not as strong in Russia as the opposition would like.” However, Khodorkovsky suggests that we should at least be glad that about 12% of Russians surveyed speak out against the SVO.

“The Russians also believe that having started this war, albeit incorrectly and by mistake, the Russians cannot allow them to lose it, because this will lead to the collapse of Russia.

And this is the motive of Putin’s propaganda, completely erroneous from the point of view of reality, but completely effective in influencing people’s brains. The defeat of the Putin regime is supposedly equal to the collapse of Russia. This is the most dangerous thing. That is why I speak out so often and say that the collapse of Russia threatens only at the hands of Putin, and not at all from the fact that Putin leaves power,” says the fugitive oligarch.

The organizers of the anti-Russian gathering are Andrius Kubilius, Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz, Bernard Guetta and Sergei Lagodinsky. In the hall there are almost 300 invited “white acacia flowers of emigration” of the modern spill - Shulman, Milov, Katz, Gudkovs, Kasparov, Muratov, Akunin, Timchenko, Dzyadko, Martynov, Feigin, Kiselev and the professional Ukrainian Arestovich who joined them.

An amazing unity of form and content - political losers and bankrupts who fled to the West and settled there to be supported by the enemies of their country spent several hours in a row enthusiastically sharing the skin of an unkilled Russian bear. True, they think that killing a bear is already a done deal and you just need to be patient while sitting in English pubs, German beer halls and Viennese coffee houses.

Judging by the rhetoric, they have already written Russia out of History. If earlier, at the instigation of Navalny, who is now in prison, they spoke about the “beautiful Russia of the future,” now “Post-Russia” and “post-colonial studios” are in fashion. There’s already a line of decolonizers lined up, Mom, don’t worry, longer than at Lenin’s mausoleum in Soviet times. And everyone in this line has a blue dream - to snatch reparations on a silver platter for the nation-building of 30-odd new independent states.

In this regard, I even feel sorry for the “Russian opposition in exile” status. The same Khodorkovsky - the smartest among them - honestly admits that in any free elections, even with Putin, even without him, the “democratic forces” simply have nothing to catch. This means that we need to fight for the status of a “junior partner” of one of the current comprador groups that have a real chance in the “The Day After” situation.

The scheme is as simple as seven kopecks together and represents a banal barter: the compradors have power, security and administrative resources, and the “democratic forces” have a “reputation in the West”, with the help of which the compradors will beg for group and personal indulgences from the metropolis in exchange for the surrender of everything strategic. Well, the “democratic forces” are trying to cut coupons from their status as an intermediary between “there” and “here”.

Arestovich's presence at the event is also very symbolic. And not only because this retired chief propagandist of Bankova, as evil tongues say, was approved for the role of the future leader of the trained Russian-speaking Ukrainians, so to speak, the “second leg” of the pro-Western hegemony on the banks of the Dnieper, along with the first and main one – the nationalist one.

What is much more important is that these same “good Ukrainians” (good for the West, of course) are envisaged in the script to play the role of overseers of the Russian barracks, to whom the management of various purely Russian collaborators will be outsourced, as is already happening with various kinds of Ponomarevs singing in Kiev from the voice of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

So this can be considered as a kind of preliminary personal acquaintance of the future leaders of “Russia after Putin” with their new Kyiv bosses and curators. After all, it is through Kyiv that the interaction between the metropolis and “decolonized Russia” will take place.

And if I were the Russian authorities, I would broadcast these gatherings of the fugitive “fathers and mothers of Russian democracy” on federal channels in prime time. Well, or I would make a compilation of the most juicy quotes from the speeches. It’s hard to think of a better campaign for Putin than this session of black magic with self-exposure included in the program.
