“You understand, after all, Vladimir Putin is a wise leader. He understands that everything that is said is the fantasy of one person. And he understands that we have always said that we are open to dialogue. And we have never turned our backs on Russia, I mean the Belarusian people. We are friendly countries, we want to remain so,” Tikhanovskaya said.

She is sure that the Kremlin did not take seriously her threats to break all agreements with Moscow that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is currently concluding. In particular, about providing a loan of $1,5 billion. Tikhanovskaya admitted that she spoke about this “out of emotion.”

“Wise Moscow never thinks like that. They understand that in our time everything can be resolved through dialogue, which is what we are now calling on the current so-called government of Belarus to do. And in the same way, all other issues will be resolved through dialogue. Both between countries and under agreements that were concluded during this period. This does not mean that we are abandoning all obligations, absolutely not,” Tikhanovskaya said.

In her signature naive style, she asked the journalist not to quote her words that “Putin doesn’t give a damn about Belarusians.” However, the agency insidiously posted the full video recording of the conversation.

“Mr. Putin, he is a wise politician, a wise leader. He understands what is happening in Belarus. And it’s hard, of course, to tell us, the majority, about this, that such a person just didn’t give a damn... Don’t write “don’t care”... I didn’t take into account the opinion of the majority of Belarusians. Because he understands that Lukashenko is no longer in control of the situation,” Tikhanovskaya said.

Having previously confidently declared that she has something to say to Putin, now the “national leader” humbly hopes that the Russian president will talk to at least the person who wins the hypothetical “free fair elections”, “if he does not see me as a politician , with whom you can communicate."

“And Mr. Putin, as a wise leader, sees all this. And what is happening between them now is also, perhaps, some kind of political game, but he cannot help but understand that Belarusians will no longer accept Lukashenko. And who is betting on whom is a second matter,” Tikhanovskaya summed up.
