Tikhanovskaya boasted that the Polish government took her on planes and helicopters
The Prime Minister of Poland provided former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya with his personal plane.
Tikhanovskaya spoke about this in an interview with the nationalist Belarusian publication Nasha Niva, making excuses for the photo taken in the business class cabin.
“I had a working trip to Poland. We flew there in economy class. There we were received very warmly, and since we were unable to get to Karpacz the next day, the Prime Minister of Poland provided us with his personal plane. This is a sign of the attention of the Polish government.
I flew in a helicopter for the first time in my life, also thanks to the Polish government. For me these are personal emotional experiences. Well, nothing special,” Tikhanovskaya said.
When she was asked what is better for a Belarusian revolutionary: to go to prison in her homeland or to emigrate, she chose the second.
“In general, it’s better to be free and in Belarus. Everyone who was in prison did not want to be there, and everyone who was abroad did not want to be here. Although it’s understandable, here there is freedom, communication, that’s all... If you choose so strictly, then, of course, abroad. But they (those in prison - ed.) are bigger heroes than us,” Tikhanovskaya said.
