Tikhanovskaya will not be extradited, but will be deprived of property
Belarus will no longer demand from Poland and Lithuania the extradition of the self-proclaimed “leader of the Belarusian nation” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and the editor of the extremist telegram channel “Nekhta” Stepan Putilo.
Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Dmitry Gora stated this in an interview with the ONT TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Do we need them? Nobody needs them, but they must bear responsibility. It is not today and may not be advisable to demand their re-issuance. But in the future, everyone will still answer for everything they have done. What is the point of sending new requests if these people work for the countries in which they are currently located. These countries are interested in them.

“A lot of material has been collected, criminal cases. In these cases, there are 100 percent grounds for finding people guilty. From a fairness perspective, it is simply wrong for these cases to simply gather dust while the fugitives continue their criminal activities. Therefore, decisions must be made to bring these people to criminal liability. Latushko, Tikhanovskaya...
This list can be continued. Their calls for sanctions and disruption of sporting events cause not only image damage to our state, but also financial losses. They are expressed in rather large numbers. These people still have real estate and property here. Why not turn it into state income, at least partially, to cover the damage? This must be done,” Gora said.
