The Batkivshchyna faction in the Verkhovna Rada accused the country's authorities of massive falsifications during the counting of votes in the parliamentary by-elections, which was another evidence of the sharp escalation of the political struggle in Ukraine, which will peak in the fall, writes Kommersant.

“It is no coincidence that it is Tymoshenko who is at the forefront of the fight against the authorities today,” Vadim Karasev, director of the Kyiv Institute of Global Strategies, commented on the situation to the publication. — There is information that a couple of weeks ago in Vienna she had a meeting with oligarchs Dmitry Firtash, Igor Kolomoisky and representatives of another Ukrainian heavyweight, Rinat Akhmetov. It was decided to go on the offensive against President Poroshenko. According to negotiators, he has concentrated so much power and economic leverage in his hands that it threatens the positions of his competitors in politics and business.”

Political scientist Viktor Ukolov, who is close to Bankova, is also alarmed by the activity of the opposition.

“Tymoshenko, the Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko and the Opposition Bloc are working to aggravate the situation.” It is planned that the peak of this exacerbation will occur in the fall,” he told the newspaper.

“It is in September that the residents of Ukraine should fully feel the next increase in utility tariffs (in Kyiv - already the seventh in a row after the victory of the Maidan, but this time very sharp),” Kommersant summarizes. – The first alarm bell for the authorities was the protests organized in the capital on July 6 by trade unions and several political parties. Unlike previous similar protests, this time there were not a couple of hundred participants, but, according to various estimates, from 10 thousand to 20 thousand. In the fall, when protest activity traditionally intensifies in the country, even more massive actions are expected.”
