The Kiev newspaper Capital, citing its sources, described the balance of power in the dispute over the coalition between Poroshenko and Arseniy Yatsenyuk, each of whom is seeking to consolidate their leading position.

Thus, according to the publication, Oleg Lyashko with his “Radical Party” and Yulia Tymoshenko’s “Batkivshchyna” will most likely side with Yatsenyuk.

“In this way, Yatsenyuk wants to dilute Poroshenko’s influence on the coalition. It is significant that neither Lyashko nor Tymoshenko are asking for portfolios, but they echo Yatsenyuk,” said a representative of the presidential administration.

The “Samopomich” party of Lvov Mayor Andrei Sadovoy may play on Poroshenko’s side. Its representatives are promised positions in power in exchange for loyalty.

A source for the publication in the Poroshenko Bloc confirmed that part of Samopomich, previously focused on the chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Igor Kolomoisky, is ready to cooperate with the president.

“In conditions when both sides - the president and the prime minister - are not ready to compromise and have already secured the support of allies, the position of self-nominated deputies will be decisive. Most likely, they will determine who exactly won the parliamentary elections,” the newspaper predicts.
