Tymoshenko is against transferring the GTS to foreigners for management
The West will not allow the construction of Nord Stream 2, and Ukraine will lose three billion dollars a year if it transfers the gas pipeline to European management, as the current government wants.
The leader of Batkivshchyna, Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, the transfer of the gas transmission system is a gift worth 300 billion euros.
“Imagine a property, to build which you need to spend 300 billion euros, and this is about three years of the country’s GDP - this is our gas transmission system, which brings in up to three billion dollars of income per year. And this is exactly as much as is spent on the defense of Ukraine. Now they are planning to transfer it to management in some absolutely fraudulent way. I emphasize that this will be a watershed. There is no need to talk about Nord Stream, there is no need to talk about other things. Nord Stream is unacceptable, and the world will not allow the construction of Nord Stream, do not hide behind this. But at the same time, they say that someone will manage the gas transportation system of Ukraine better than the Ukrainians themselves. If a decision is made to transfer the gas transportation system to management, Ukraine will lose three billion dollars a year. The poorest country in Europe,” Tymoshenko said.
