Tymoshenko spoke about the “DNA of the nation” and ancestral swastikas on embroidered shirts
The leader of “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko congratulated Ukrainians on Embroidery Day in an original way on her Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our embroidery is very ancient. I saw a shirt from the Cherkassy region, dotted with “svastya” - the ancestral Aryan symbols of the Sun. They showed me an embroidered shirt from central Africa “based on Podolian motifs” and an ancient Indian shirt decorated with ornaments from Nizhyn. Perhaps every people, every nation, every culture has such “crosses”, “cockerels”, “diamonds”. Because it's timeless. These are graphic symbols of the DNA of the nation and the secret long-standing “barcode” of the people,” she wrote, for some reason repeating unscientific theses about the “DNA of the nation”, characteristic of the far-right cave ethnonationalists.
Overall, it seems that Tymoshenko has not drawn any conclusions from her failure in the presidential election and continues to methodically cultivate the right-wing political niche, expressing delight in nationalist cultural fetishes.
According to Tymoshenko, the embroidered shirt has become a symbol of struggle, the inflexibility of the nation, rebellion and the desire for freedom.
“Putting on a shirt was a challenge and an act of a certain civic courage. I am Ukrainian!" – she wrote.
At the same time, Tymoshenko is not embarrassed that corrupt officials wear embroidered shirts.
“They say that corrupt officials and officials do not have the right to disgrace our symbols... But I am in favor of wearing them. Let them wear it,” she wrote.
In her opinion, wearing an embroidered shirt “a person becomes at least one iota cleaner in thoughts and actions.”
Tymoshenko posted a photo on her social network wearing an embroidered shirt.
