The Ukrainian government trades weapons with Russia, hiding behind patriotic rhetoric.

Yulia Tymoshenko (“Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc”) stated this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Their fake patriotism covers, for example, the sale of Ukrainian-made weapons to Russia. The Stockholm Peace Research Institute clearly stated the dates when they were sold, the amounts, and what kind of weapons. I want to ask – is this patriotism? And why is there still no investigation – parliamentary, SBU?” she said.
Petro Poroshenko's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Artur Gerasimov, called Tymoshenko's statement a lie.
“I understand, for example, when lies about the arms trade that we allegedly trade with Russia are spread by Russians, but I don’t understand when this is spread by representatives of our parliamentary faction. Don’t you remember that this is data for five years, and it dates back to 2012, when Yanukovych was selling these weapons?” he said.
“Representatives of the administration begin to twist and twitch like vampires in the sun when they start talking about corruption in the Presidential Administration, and directly from the president, especially in the arms trade,” BYuT representative Sergei Vlasenko commented on Gerasimov’s words. He cited the findings of the Stockholm Peace Research Institute, according to which Ukrainian weapons were supplied to Russia in 2015, i.e. not under Yanukovych, as the presidential representative claims.
