Tymoshenko ran away from the debate - there was no one to “debate”
Presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko nevertheless came to the debate on the UA:Pershy TV channel, and almost immediately went back, because her opponents - Petro Poroshenko and Vladimir Zelensky - were not there, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I came to the debate even though there was no one to debate,” she joked.
She said that she expected to communicate with her two competitors in the presidential race, but they are not there, and she will now leave, because she has many “organizational issues.”
“I was invited to the debate. I am very sorry that two powerful rating-bearers did not find the time, or rather the courage, to debate today. I think that one, in principle, will not come to any debate, and the second presidential candidate with a high rating, he rides a bicycle here, I think that he travels far and did not get there on a bicycle,” Tymoshenko noted.
Leading and invited journalists began to persuade her to stay, and even began to pose pressing questions.
“I didn’t come here so that you would insult me,” Tymoshenko replied.
The presenters reminded her that Anatoly Gritsenko, when he learned that there would be no opponents, still remained on the air.
“In general, we women are weaker. Our strength is in our weakness,” Tymoshenko joked.
She was also reproached for running away because she was afraid of the experts’ questions.
“I’m not afraid of anyone or anything in my life,” the Batkivshchyna leader snapped.
As a result, she did not give in to persuasion and left the channel’s studio. At the same time, she promised that she would definitely come to talk with journalists on any day between the first and second rounds, if she was invited.
