Tymoshenko threw a tantrum over Nord Stream
The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine, the construction of which Germany agreed to, contributes to the legalization of “Russian aggression” and is incompatible with the course of counteracting Russia through sanctions.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated this at the “New Strategy for Peace and Security” forum in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The real strengthening of sanctions is one of our steps towards peace. Sanctions that apply against Russian enterprises and the elite are needed, and they are working. But they are not enough. That is why we believe that the policy of sanctions should be strengthened and aimed at forcing the complete liberation of the territory of Ukraine and establishing peace.
At the same time, it is obvious that the policy of strengthening sanctions against Russia is incompatible with the construction of Nord Stream 2 and other similar projects. They help the aggressor to legalize the war. And this significantly weakens the whole world,” Tymoshenko said.
