The corresponding decision was made at today's committee meeting.

“I ask you to support my proposal so that at the next meeting of the committee we consider this issue and publicly, transparently hear Yulia Tymoshenko,” said people’s deputy from the BPP Artur Gerasimov, Petro Poroshenko’s former representative in the Rada, who recently demanded that Tymoshenko be held accountable for treason in connection with the recent decision of the Stockholm arbitration.

At the same time, he added that the decision of the Stockholm court confirmed the fact that with the gas contract, “Yulia Tymoshenko committed high treason and betrayal of national interests.”

In turn, committee chairman Sergei Pashinsky, a former BYuT member and loyal ally of Tymoshenko, called the ex-prime minister’s signing of the agreement a surrender of Ukraine’s national interests.

“I am not against hearing Tymoshenko at the next meeting... and it is obvious to me that this contract became the basis for the surrender of national interests,” he said.

The People's Deputy recalled that the “gas contract” of 2009 became the basis for the signing of the Kharkov agreements.

The majority of committee members voted to hear Tymoshenko's explanations.
