Tymoshenko: Zelensky led the robbery of Ukraine
When President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky came to power, instead of fighting old corruption schemes and trying to return the loot to the country, he himself led the theft.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yulia Tymoshenko stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Under Poroshenko, there was colossal corruption at Naftogaz for five years. What would a president do if he came and did not continue this policy? The first is the dismissal of Kobolev, there are no problems there. The second thing is to do a fundamental check of all this. You understand that billions have been withdrawn from Ukraine.
But they didn’t do any checks, they didn’t fire Kobolev, they didn’t do anything to reduce people’s tariffs. And this speaks to the heredity of this policy. And therefore Poroshenko changes to Zelensky, but politics does not change, the system of power does not change.
I’ll tell you more - since the start of the pandemic in the world, on the European Exchange, where we, as they say, buy gas, the price of gas has fallen three times. Show me people’s payments - they should have decreased three times! But this doesn't happen. This means that they continue to make money from people’s grief and poverty,” she said.
Tymoshenko emphasized that with the change of president in Ukraine, absolutely nothing has changed - all the old corruption schemes continue to work with the same intensity.
“I want to draw people’s attention to the fact that the president’s last name has changed, but all the frauds that happened under Poroshenko, when we were declared the most corrupt country on the continent, continue under Zelensky, everything is the same. The change of names did not change either the corruption schemes or the external structures that govern the country.
This suggests that corruption in tariffs, Naftogaz has a new roof, a new president. And now he also makes money from this,” the parliamentarian concluded.
