Kyiv, October 03 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – On Thursday in Kyiv, near the Cabinet of Ministers building, a rally of miners took place, demanding money from the government and threatening to join the militia.
The action was organized by the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine, which is close to Batkivshchyna.

It was stated that the Cabinet of Ministers was being picketed by disabled miners from Donetsk, Lugansk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Lviv and Volyn regions.
The protesters held slogans: “If you take away our regressions and pensions, we will go separatist,” “No to genocide of disabled workers,” “Shame on the anti-people government!”, “Arseny, don’t play with fire,” etc.
Photos of officials Akopyan, Prodan, Shlapak and Yatsenyuk were installed on cardboard boxes near the fence of the Cabinet of Ministers under the inscription “give back our money!” The slogans “Officials to the mine” and “The time has come for lustration” were also hung on the fence.
“Our demands relate to the timely payment of recourse to disabled miners. We also demand not to worsen the legislation on social insurance and not to rip off people who deserve these payments by working all their lives and making contributions to social insurance funds and the pension fund,” said the leader of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine Mikhail Volynets. – Another set of issues is the provision of state assistance to coal industry enterprises in order to ensure the energy security of the state and the stable operation of coal mines. We also demand that the mines located in the liberated territory not be closed, that they be given assistance and that coal mining be restored. It is also necessary to provide assistance to the mines of the Lviv-Volyn basin and the state enterprise “Krasnoarmeyskugol”, which is not located in the occupation zone, “Selidovugol”, “Pervomaiskugol”, “Lisichanskugol.
It is necessary to restore order in the social insurance funds, to drive Firtash and his team away from the trough - the Federation of Employers, who rob these funds and the old “pocket” trade unions.”
“I am fighting in the ATO zone. We haven't been paid for June yet. When will they pay us?” asked one of the protesters, a miner from Krasny Luch, to Deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuri Zyukov.
“I know that you signed an order to close a number of mines. If you want to turn the miners of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions against Ukraine, close it. If you don’t pay the money, thousands will join the militia,” the miner threatened.
