TNCs are taking over Ukraine
Taking Budget for 2020 year, the Ukrainian government took care to deprive Ukrainian farmers of any opportunity to buy land on credit.
President of the public organization “Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine” Anatoly Peshko stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The whole cynicism of the situation, which shows that the government is trying to deceive its own people, lies in the fact that even when in the 2020 budget they include funds for allegedly lending to farmers to buy land, and allocate 4,4 billion hryvnia for this, then the interest rate is more than 20%. At such a rate, it is impossible to produce at all, let alone invest in land.
That is, the very formulation of the question - taking out loans in order to invest in the purchase of land - is absolutely meaningless from a technical point of view. If they invested money in the development of new technologies, irrigated agriculture, and the development of livestock farming, then it would be very great,” the economist noted.
At the same time, transnational corporations are waging an active campaign to destroy livestock in Ukraine so that local farmers become impoverished and are unable to buy back the land.
“And today the trade union of workers in the dairy industry and dairy cattle breeding is already turning to the leadership and population of Ukraine with a request to do something. Because the number of cattle is sharply declining, and they are already directly stating that in the next six months to a year, Ukrainian-made dairy products will disappear from store shelves.
Livestock is being destroyed. There have been cases of mass poisoning of cows, when in some farms one hundred or more cows disappeared at the same time. That is, these are clear facts that someone is carrying out provocations. And African swine fever became widespread after feed from the largest transnational company Cargill began to be supplied to Ukraine.
This suggests that these are deliberate, deliberate actions from those transnational global companies that want to buy up Ukrainian land. Believe me, not a single citizen of Ukraine will buy this land,” the expert concluded.
Let us remind you that yesterday in the Verkhovna Rada statedthat the opening of the land market could cause famine in Ukraine.
