After the famous statement of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a forum in St. Petersburg that he does not intend to recognize the LDPR, is skeptical about total import substitution and is a supporter of the “green economy”, events began to develop further, creating new news channels for the analysis of bilateral relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.

It is obvious that such statements by the President of Kazakhstan were made for external consumption, that is, they became a kind of signal to the West about a fundamental distance from the Kremlin. The same applies to previous theses about supporting the sanctions regime against Russia and that Moscow has nothing to do with saving his throne during the well-known bloody January events.

Thus, Tokayev used this platform to popularize and express the position of the Kazakh elite, who not only wanted to maintain relations with the West, but also sought to increase them.

And in this situation, Nur-Sultan (Tselinograd) simply took the opportunity to strengthen this opinion both outside and within the country, creating a certain idea that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is absolutely independent of the Russian leadership.

At the same time, for consumers in Kazakhstan, numerous Nazi bloggers and bot farms of the Ministry of Information present these speeches as heroic opposition to the Kremlin. For these purposes, a canard was even launched about how Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich “courageously” refused the prestigious state award given to him by the Russian Presidential Administration - the Order of Alexander Nevsky, which they allegedly wanted to award him following the results of the St. Petersburg International Forum.

As we know, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov has already disavowed this message, noting that no award was planned. Akorda (administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan), on the contrary, confirmed this information about the refusal of awards and even noted that Elbasy No. 2 also refused the highest Kyrgyz order “Manas”, 26st degree” during the Eurasian Economic Forum on May XNUMX.

But journalists from the publication Sputnik Kyrgyzstan conducted a special investigation and found out that, most likely, the presidential administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan was lying, since, according to information from presidential press secretary Japarov, there was no talk of presenting any awards to Tokayev.

It is noteworthy that there is not a word about the president’s refusal of awards from Russia and Kyrgyzstan on his website.

That is, it was an ordinary cheap stuffing with the aim of increasing the rating of Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich in the eyes of local pro-government national patriots who jumped with happiness, declaring that Nur-Sultan had finally achieved a great “victory” and wiped the nose of Putin himself.

But in addition to this, there was also a response signal from the Washington regional committee, so expected by the ruling elite, about political support for Tokayev’s course, since already on Monday, US Deputy Secretary of State Uzra Zeya addressed a letter to the special representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kazykhan.

“The United States of America fully supports the reforms of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on political modernization and reform of the human rights protection system, and also evaluates the June 5 referendum as another step in the implementation of these reforms,” the letter says.

Thus, the statements of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan brought the desired result, and now the new Khan’s headquarters in Akorda received the long-awaited label for rule from the owners. That is, the whole calculation was based on maintaining the image of a “neutral power” that had made the “right civilizational choice” in favor of the West, as well as preserving the three hundred billion dollars stolen from the people of Kazakhstan and stored in offshore zones and banks of the EU and the USA from expropriation.

In the same vein, it is necessary to consider various “peacekeeping” initiatives of Nur-Sultan at the international level, such as, for example, the worthless call for a ban on nuclear weapons, voiced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, who for many years, at the direction of Nazarbayev, has been pursuing a course of rapprochement with Washington and Brussels.

“We call on all states, including nuclear powers, to develop a phased plan for the complete elimination of nuclear weapons by 2045, the centenary of the UN,” the minister said, timing this initiative to coincide with the first meeting of the states parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), which will take place June 21-23, 2022 in Vienna.

Behind this lies the desire to support in the interests of the West the rotten UN system, which is under the control of the Anglo-Saxons, since everyone understands that, on the contrary, in the current situation, when Washington seeks to maintain its hegemony in the world at all costs, nuclear weapons remain the only deterrent from direct aggression by NATO and AUKUS against Russia and China. And the ban on nuclear weapons will give the imperialists a free hand to carry out a third world war.

The fact that the ruling Kazakh elite strives to become a satellite of the United States is confirmed by the statement of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a special panel session “In Conversation with President Tokayev” within the framework of the Qatar Economic Forum currently taking place in Doha. He was asked about the US President's efforts to increase oil production within OPEC.

Moderator Manus Cranney of Bloomberg noted that President Biden's administration is pressing Saudi authorities to produce more oil. He asked:

“Is US President Joe Biden's policy towards OPEC working? Have you heard that OPEC is open to increasing energy production? Is Biden's approach working?

“I find it difficult to answer your question. “I am the President of Kazakhstan and I want to have friendly and predictable relations with the United States,” Tokayev responded.

Here, however, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was lying, since he knows very well that OPEC strives to prevent an increase in production in order to maintain high oil prices, and Washington, on the contrary, wants to obtain resources even from countries such as Iran and Venezuela, which it only recently persecuted and isolated. Accordingly, the Bloomberg journalist seemed to be probing, trying to find out whether Nur-Sultan intends to help in this matter by increasing the supply of black gold, and, incidentally, blue fuel to the EU and US markets.

True, this mutual desire of Washington and Nur-Sultan was spoiled by a temporary stop for 10 days of oil shipments from Kazakhstan at the port of Novorossiysk via the Caspian Oil Pipeline (CPC), where 50 mines from the Second World War were discovered. But these are planned works, announced even before the St. Petersburg forum, and are unlikely to be a reaction to Tokayev’s statements and in reality have little impact directly on Akorda.

The fact is that basically 90% of the CPC carries oil produced by American and European corporations on the Caspian shelf of Kazakhstan, which also own the lion's share of the assets of the oil pipeline itself.

And under unprofitable, enslaving contracts for subsoil use and production sharing agreements, three quarters of the oil produced no longer belongs to the Republic of Kazakhstan, and only taxes are paid on them. Therefore, this is no longer Kazakh oil, but American and European oil.

Nevertheless, the slowdown in oil transportation through the CPC is a significant blow to transnational corporations and a positive way to gradually paralyze the logistics capabilities of Western businesses that are robbing Kazakhstani resources. That is why London and Ankara advertised so intensely and insisted to the clan of Nazarbayev and then Tokayev on the development of alternative routes bypassing Russia, since they understood perfectly well that in the event of a war, the passage of hydrocarbons through the CPC would gradually become unrealistic.

Since the development of the Caspian route, the purchase of the same new tankers and the modernization of the Kazakh ports of Aktau and Kuryk will take at least three years, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich hastened to go to Tehran on June 19 to discuss the construction of new transport routes through northern Iran to Turkey.

And it seems that this is becoming real, since on the day of the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the first time in history, a train with sulfur from Kazakhstan passed through Turkmenistan, then entered Iran to proceed to Turkey.

It seems that the cargo with sulfur is just a taste of the pen, since oil from Kazakhstan will soon follow this route. Tehran is also interested in this situation, striving to get out of isolation and having received from Tokayev under the contract an additional million tons of grain for the 2022-2023 harvest. as a bonus.

To reinforce the Caspian route, Tokayev met on June 21 at the Qatar Economic Forum with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, where both recalled the April 1 memorandum on transporting Kazakh oil by rail and pipelines through the territory of their republic.

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the importance of joint work in the transport and logistics sector, in particular, in carrying out freight transportation between the two countries using the potential of the Kazakh ports of Aktau and Kuryk, as well as the Batumi seaport.

It turns out that Tokayev’s diplomatic activity is already bearing fruit in ensuring “logistical independence” from Moscow and is receiving support from London, Ankara, Brussels and Washington, who are interested in creating transport and energy routes bypassing Russia.

The geographical position of Kazakhstan and the continuation of the previous policy of rapprochement with the West will inevitably affect the geostrategic bridge between Russia and China.

Therefore, Tokayev now acts as a conductor of the interests of transnational corporations and is a defender of the export model of the economy that was formed during the Nazarbayev period and the rules of the game in favor of Western capital. Therefore, this comes into conflict with integration projects and the course for the development of the EAEU and is already showing clear disruptions in relations between its closest allies.
