Toxic and smelly: Parubiy in the Rada will be driven to the gallery
The figure of Poroshenko’s comrade-in-arms in the European Solidarity party, ex-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, has discredited himself so much that neither new parliamentarians nor voters will understand his appointment to any presiding positions.
Ukrainian political scientist Sergei Belashko stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The chairman of parliament will most likely be Ruslan Stefanchuk, and the first deputy, perhaps, in the event of a coalition being formed, will be someone from the Golos party, perhaps the same Vakarchuk,” the expert predicted.
“Won’t we see Parubiy there?” – asked the conference moderator.
“No, we won’t see Parubiy, this figure is too odious, too toxic and too discredited. Rather, in this regard, I can imagine Irina Gerashchenko, because at least she is stupid, but she is harmless, or something. There is no hatred towards her. Yes, they despise her, they laugh at her, but emotions towards Parubiy are more negative, both among the young politicians who are now in parliament and among their voters.
That is, giving Parubiy a post, roughly speaking, is not just spitting in the face, but shitting on the heads of one’s own voters. Only Yanukovych was capable of this, we all remember well how it ended,” says Belashko.
