Just don’t fall: Yarosh was seriously preparing a meeting with Putin
One of the leaders of UNA-UNSO, Nikolai Karpyuk, released from a Russian prison during an exchange, claims that in 2014 he went to the territory of the Russian Federation to organize a meeting between the leader of the extremist Right Sector, Dmitry Yarosh, and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Karpyuk spoke about this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Neither Nalyvaichenko nor Dmitry Yarosh have anything to do with this conclusion (to his arrest - ed.) I had one very good friend of mine, the man who baptized my son, whom I trusted very much, he approached me a few days before this trip about the fact that Putin and his entourage have a very great desire to meet with the leadership "Right Sector".
I gave the go-ahead - go ahead, just then I left Kyiv and returned on the evening of the 15th (March – ed.), On the 16th we had a meeting of the then leadership of the Right Sector, at which a decision was made whether I should go or not.
Frankly, I made a big mistake when I went to this Russia. I didn’t think that in the XNUMXst century, even in Russia, there could be such lawlessness and such an attitude towards people. Since I did not commit any criminal offenses on the territory of Russia, as I thought, the only thing that could threaten me was deportation from the borders of Russia,” Karpyuk said.
“We also bought into the fact that this was supposed to be a preliminary conversation with Putin or someone close to him, on which the next meeting between Putin and Yarosh depended. True, we raised the question that it should not have taken place in Moscow.
Thus, trusting the person who was organizing this process, and, most importantly, realizing that we are on the verge of war with Russia, and we have a chance to maintain peace, a decision was made in favor of this trip. We left by car, and right at the border a special group of the FSB arrested all three of us, put us in shackles, and we went straight to Essentuki. This is how it happened,” said the nationalist.
According to him, the meeting directly with Putin was planned at his residence in Novo-Ogarevo.
“I personally didn’t believe that Putin would meet with us, I thought it would be some person from his close circle. Yarosh knew about this, because on March 16, just before this trip, we gathered with the leadership of the Right Sector and discussed the question of who should go,” added Nikolai Karpyuk.
