This is stated in the results of a sociological study by the Razumkov Center regarding “Citizens' assessment of the situation in Donbass.”
“Public opinion regarding further actions to resolve the conflict is uncertain: 34,4% of respondents believe that the ATO should be continued until Ukraine restores control over the occupied territories, 28,5% support granting these territories a special status within Ukraine, and 19,9% support the separation of these territories from Ukraine,” the study results say.
It is also reported that most often residents of the Western and Central regions are in favor of continuing the ATO, and least often - residents of the East of Ukraine.
Note that the study was conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center from August 7 to August 16, 2015. In 2010, respondents over the age of 18 were surveyed in all regions of Ukraine, with the exception of Crimea and the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, using a sample representing the adult population of Ukraine according to main socio-demographic indicators.
The surveys were structured as multi-stage, random surveys with a quota selection of respondents at the last stage. The theoretical sampling error (without taking into account the design effect) does not exceed 2,3% with a probability of 0,95.
