This year alone, one and a half million people left Ukraine
The number of Ukrainians has decreased by 2019 million people since the beginning of 1,5, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was announced by the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Dmitry Dubilet.
“Since the beginning of the year, the number of Ukrainians living on our territory has decreased by 1,5 million people. We see a massive return of Ukrainians home at the end of April - at the beginning of May for European and Ukrainian holidays. After these holidays, the negative trend decreased, but is still present,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
As the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers clarified, this is preliminary data. According to him, using such data, the Cabinet of Ministers intends to build public “dashboards” on which in the future society will evaluate the work of the authorities in the long term.
“More people leave Ukraine than come, and more die than are born,” Dubilet summed up.
At the same time, he noted the lack of demographic data in the country.
“It turned out that they were not in the required form. We are now working together with the State Border Service of Ukraine on statistics on border crossings and with the Ministry of Justice on birth/death rates,” Dubilet said.
