Tomosyatniks got lost in the names
The name of the new Ukrainian church, created under the patronage of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, may result in problems and another scandal in Orthodoxy.
Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Svyatoslav Piskun said this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We held a Synod in Sofia of Kyiv, which was attended by our Ukrainian bishops. And who did they choose as head? Ukrainian Orthodox Church [actually the Orthodox Church of Ukraine]. That’s what it was called in the decision – “election of the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.” What is written in the tomos today? "Holy Church" That is, what kind of head is he? "Holy Church"? Where is the Ukrainian Orthodox Church?” said the ex-prosecutor general.
According to him, now it is necessary to elect the head of the “Holy Church of Ukraine”.
“They changed the name. Such mistakes may lead to a different interpretation of Orthodoxy in Ukraine. Later, the government will change, Bartholomew will change, another person will come and say: “What you drew there is not correct, let’s change it,” Piskun said.
