The tragedy in Munich and the fate of sanctions against Russia
Yuliy Zhukovsky-Krebs, leader of the youth wing of the Left party
At approximately 17:30 in Munich, shooting began in the Olympia shopping center. We now know that the police are looking for 3 suspects who killed 9 people and injured up to twenty. It is not yet clear who is to blame, but many eyewitnesses say that one of the shooters shouted: “Damned foreigners, damned Turks!”
Apparently, the motives are right-wing radical. In Munich there have already been several terrorist attacks by right-wing radicals in German history.
Now information from Munich is being broadcast on all TV channels, and heated discussions are taking place on social networks. In any case, this terrorist attack is a great tragedy for Germany.

Statements by Verkhovna Rada deputies that Russia is somehow involved in the terrorist attack in Munich are pure insanity. There is not a single word about Russia in the German media.
The “Left” party, which I represent, was loyal to the arrival of migrants, I do not change my position. The question is not whether we need migrants or not, but do these people need protection and peace?
At the same time, we continue to fight against NATO and other military missions that produce refugees from countries where the West is fighting. And at the same time, we are fighting for economic justice in Germany. After all, the main problem in Germany is that the rich pay little or no taxes.
How this whole situation will affect German politics remains to be seen in the coming days. It is difficult to say anything about possible changes in Germany’s relations with Russia and Ukraine.
The Christian Democrats and Social Democrats are falling in the ratings, we, on the contrary, have risen from 3 to 9 percent over the past 11 months.
Another 9 percent could go to the Alternative for Germany, which is also against sanctions. But this is a neoliberal and xenophobic party. There will be no cooperation on our part with Alternative for Germany.
At the moment, the majority of German citizens are against sanctions. Just like most of the industry, which is groaning under sanctions.
To lift sanctions, it is necessary to increase the dissemination of information about who these sanctions help, and who demands their preservation the most.
