A tragic and instructive story about those who like to impose sanctions on Russian companies

A large-scale hacker attack that hit the websites of a number of large Ukrainian companies and government agencies yesterday was the result of an attempt to ban Russian software in Ukraine.

Editor of the Odessa online publication “Timer” Yuri Tkachev writes about this on his Facebook page.”

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Now you will hear a tragic and instructive story about the country of Ukraine, whose rulers loved - hahaha! – yes, they liked to impose sanctions on Russian companies.

In general, they imposed sanctions on 1C. 1C itself didn’t seem to be banned, but accountants and, in general, top management of Ukrainian enterprises are crazy people. It doesn’t seem to be banned somehow, but who knows? Maybe tomorrow they will find 1C on your computer - and a lot of other shortcomings in the work will immediately become clear...

In short, patriotic or simply cautious Ukrainian enterprises decided to look for local analogues of 1C - fortunately, as they were told on TSN, there are such analogues - at least you can eat your booty! Well, at least MEDoc...

In general, these guys installed MEDoc, but they didn’t know that there were holes in this system, through which, along with program updates, all sorts of bad things could get into computers. The first bell sounded back in May, when the nasty, but relatively harmless XData ransomware virus got into the MEDoc update system. This experience taught no one anything. In particular, the MEDoc developers categorically refused to learn anything - especially since thanks to the efforts of our Peter Alekseevich, the Laveha was already running quite normally.

But then a more serious guy climbed into the same hole that no one thought of plugging (what the hell?) - the namesake of our guarantor, the Petya virus, and screwed everything up...

In short, what am I talking about? Dear patriots! Quickly refuse the products of the aggressor country! Buy Ukraine! That’s the varte!” Tkachev remarked mockingly.
