Trump called Ukraine a problem that needs to be solved
US President Donald Trump explained why he called Vladimir Putin and congratulated him on his election victory.
The American leader wrote about this on the Twitter microblog, responding to reproaches that this should not have been done.
“I called Russian President Putin to congratulate him on his election victory (Obama also called him in the past). The fake news media went crazy because they wanted me to criticize him. They are wrong! Establishing relations with Russia (and others) is good, not bad,” the US President is convinced.
According to Trump, improving relations with Russia “could help solve problems with North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, ISIS, Iran and even the coming arms race.”
“Bush tried to get along, but he didn’t have the smarts. Obama and Clinton tried, but they didn't have the energy or chemistry (think Reset). Peace through strength,” the American president wrote.
