Trump will not bury the Minsk agreements
Moscow and Washington will not revise the Minsk agreements after Donald Trump comes to power. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this today at a press conference in Moscow, answering a question from a Ukrainian journalist.

“I have not heard the Donald Trump administration declare its intention to bury the Minsk agreements and solve the problem of the crisis in Ukraine in some other way. We don’t need to think about this topic,” Lavrov said.
He emphasized that the whole world supports the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
“They are enshrined in a unanimously adopted resolution of the UN Security Council. I have not heard that France and Germany, as participating countries of the Normandy format, or Donetsk and Lugansk, as participants in the contact group, proposed changing these agreements. The Obama administration tried to support these agreements. This was not a useless effort, but it did not lead to anything,” the Russian Foreign Minister recalled.
The only country that opposes the implementation of Minsk is Ukraine, the Russian minister added.
“In Ukraine, political science and official circles are making statements at a very high level that no one is going to implement these agreements, that they need to be rewritten and included in the US settlement. We have been hearing this since the conclusion of these agreements,” Lavrov emphasized.
