He stated this in an interview with American journalists, TASS reports.
When asked whether he was ready to recognize Crimea as part of the Russian Federation, Trump replied: “I will consider this possibility.”
“However, you know, the people of Crimea, as I heard, would prefer to be with Russia than where they were before. And this should be kept in mind,” he emphasized.
“As for Ukraine, there is chaos there. And this is what happens when the (US President Barack) Obama administration is in power with its strong ties to NATO. With all these strong ties to NATO, Ukraine is a mess,” Trump added.
