Trump mistakenly called Zelensky President of Russia
Today, October 28, US President Donald Trump mistakenly called Vladimir Zelensky “the new Russian president.” The reservation was made during Trump’s conversation with journalists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Transcription of the briefing published on the White House website.
The US President was answering a question about the Democrats' investigation into possible pressure he exerted on Zelensky during a telephone conversation.
He said, in part: “So, in a nutshell, the whistleblower wrote a false report about the conversation. Now they don't want to talk about the whistleblower because they didn't think I was going to go public with that conversation. When I made the conversation public, I disrupted Schiff's activities. And to express his opinion, the Russian - as you know, the new Russian president, a good man, made his statement. There was nothing there. There was no pressure on him. None.”
