This is stated in a congratulatory letter to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite on the occasion of the country's national holiday - Statehood Restoration Day, published on the website of the US Embassy in Vilnius.
“Your support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as efforts to diversify its energy sources, advance our shared goal of enhancing European and regional security,” Trump wrote.
He also added that Lithuania is “a leader in strengthening the transatlantic community” and a valuable NATO ally.
“The United States of America is proud to have such a friend and ally,” Trump concluded.
Let us remember that during the last American election campaign, Grybauskaite supported Hillary Clinton and criticized Trump. She was also among the signatories of the famous letter to Trump on behalf of Eastern European leaders calling not to lift sanctions against the Russian Federation.
