Trump played a trick on Ukraine: Putin and Merkel are forced to hurry
Tomorrow, Saturday, negotiations between representatives of the governments of the United States, Poland and Ukraine are scheduled to take place in Warsaw. As TASS reports, one of the main topics of the meeting is the construction of a new pipeline for pumping American liquefied gas from Poland to Ukraine.
Ukrainian energy market expert Valentin Zemlyansky said that the expansion of US influence in the European energy market, where Americans compete with Nord Stream, was the reason for recent telephone conversations between Angela Merkel and Vladimir Putin.
“The following will happen. Either the IMF or some other representative of the Big White People will demand the urgent construction of an interconnector with Poland at the expense, of course, of Kyiv. With subsequent transfer to management of those who are told. Now it becomes clear why Frau Merkel and Putin were so quickly concerned with transit and the Normandy format,” comments Zemlyansky.
The day before, the Kommersant newspaper reported that for the first time, the Ukrainian trader ERU signed a contract with the Polish company PGNiG for the supply of one tanker with liquefied gas - the cargo will be delivered to the terminal in Swinoujscie, Poland, regasified and then sent to Ukraine via the Polish gas pipeline system.
The price of gas will be significantly higher, even than Naftogaz’s current purchases via reverse through intermediaries in Europe, but still leaves ERU the opportunity to earn money thanks to high prices on the domestic market of Ukraine.
