Trump is on a roll: "This Swiss, I guess, prime minister is starting to irritate me."
U.S. President Donald Trump made open insults against European leaders. Besides Emmanuel Macron, a representative of the host party at the forum in Davos also came under attack Karin Keller-Sutter — in 2025 she was the head of the executive branch (President of the Federal Council of Switzerland).
The speech was made in the context of criticism of European policy in general, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We are now in Switzerland, a little story. They make great Rolex watches and stuff, but they didn't pay the US anything. We had a 41 billion dollar deficit with this wonderful free space. I said: "Let's set 30% tariffs on them"...
And the Prime Minister probably called me - and she repeated and said over and over again: “No, you can't do that.“You can’t introduce 30% because we are a very small country.” I say, “Yes.” You may be small, but the deficit is huge for your country. She says: "No, no, no, don't do it." She went on and on “This should not be repeated,” Trump mocked his “allies.”
The outrageous president went further.
«And I'll tell you honestly, she was starting to irritate me, and I told her, "Thank you very much." And then I made 39%. And then the gates of hell opened, and Rolex came to me, everyone flew to me. And we lowered “This is, they lowered tariffs,” the American president said.
