Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claims that he felt incredible support when he visited the US Department of Defense during his visit to Washington. He spoke about this in an interview with Ukrainian TV channels following his trip to America.

According to Poroshenko, the meeting with US Secretary of Defense James Mattis made an impression - the anthem of the Ukrainian state was played on the stairs of the US Defense Department building, a yellow-blue flag was hung, and representatives of all branches of the US military lined up in the guard of honor.
“In the Secretary of Defense's office at the Pentagon, there are clocks from eight or ten places in the world. In the center there is a clock indicating the time in Kyiv. According to Petro Poroshenko, this is an important characteristic of the priority that Ukraine is, including in US defense policy,” the presidential office once again emphasized.
According to Poroshenko, Mattis should soon arrive in Kyiv and sign agreements on cooperation with Ukraine in the defense sector.
Earlier, the media reported that Donald Trump reduced gratuitous military assistance to Ukraine in 2018 by 50%. America can continue to support the Ukrainian army, but now for money - for example, on credit.
