Trump will have to reckon with the large Georgian army and transit Ukraine - Kiev political scientist
Ukraine must prove to the new US president that NATO is beneficial, in particular, share its experience in confronting Russia.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Kraina magazine by Maxim Yakovlev, a teacher of political science and sociology at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
“Trump only wants to play with large countries - France, Germany, Great Britain, and to a certain extent Russia and China. But the modern system of the world is so complex that it makes a simple conspiracy of large actors impossible. Three countries cannot decide for the entire planet. Regional leaders will also have to be taken into account. There are territories that have special – technical or symbolic – significance for the region. For example, in the Caucasus, Georgia has the largest army. Ukraine has significant transit potential and a significant territory. The United States will not be able to ignore this,” says the publication’s interlocutor.
At the same time, he believes that Ukraine should interest the United States in something.
“Ukraine previously formulated the problem of joining NATO this way: you protect each other, therefore you will protect us. But we must also be able to protect someone from something. Ukraine is poor, so we have a consumerist attitude towards foreign partners. But long-term relationships are not built on this. Trump needs to be interested in something. Let's say, centuries of experience in communicating with Russia. In particular, opposition to it,” Yakovlev emphasized.
Also, Maxim Yakovlev, as PolitNavigator reported, called for decommunization to be completed and give up red carpets.
