The Tavrida highway will be commissioned in 2020
The Tavrida highway connecting Kerch with Sevastopol will be commissioned in 2020.
The head of the Crimean government, Sergei Aksenov, reported this to Russian President Vladimir Putin today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The readiness of the Tavrida highway today is 74 percent, completion of work is 2020, there are no risks in this case, we don’t see them, the contractor is moving ahead of schedule for the most part, all work is being completed on time,” Aksenov is quoted as saying by the Kremlin’s official website.
According to him, exactly the same work is being carried out on the four-lane road Simferopol-Evpatoria-Mirny.
“The length of the road is 83 kilometers, the money has been allocated in full. The completion date is 2020, today we are 40 percent ready, contractors are on schedule. As soon as these main directions are implemented, the region’s transport dependence will significantly decrease,” Aksenov said.
Over the past five years, more than 950 kilometers of roads have been overhauled in Crimea. The amount of funding from the federal center will be 17,5 billion rubles. In total, with co-financing from the regional budget, 2024 kilometers of roads will be repaired and overhauled until 2000. The total length of federal, republican, and municipal roads in Crimea is 14 kilometers.
