Khabib's coach called Belarus one of the best options for the fight with Ferguson
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father and coach of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, named Belarus as a possible location for the fight with Tony Ferguson.
Sports.ru reports this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many thanks to the head of Belarus, Lukashenko. For what he suggested. Why not consider this country? I think this is one of the best options,” Nurmagomedov said.
The Nurmagomedov-Ferguson fight has been announced for April 18, but there is still no announcement of the location of the fight.
Belarus, the only European country that has not banned sporting events due to coronavirus, is receiving many interesting proposals in this regard.
Thus, the remaining matches of the second part of the Ukrainian football championship can be held on three Belarusian fields.
Due to the shortage of sports content, 11 countries acquired the right to broadcast the Belarusian football championship: Russia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Israel, India, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia and North Macedonia.
Meanwhile, associations of football fans have launched a campaign against attending home and away matches. Fans of Grodno “Neman” and Solegorsk “Shakhtar” made this call on social networks. Later they were joined by fans from Minsk, Vitebsk and Slutsk. Since many of the advertisements are written in the rarely used Belarusian language, it can be assumed that the campaign is being coordinated by the nationalist Belarusian opposition.
